Belief Statement-

We believe that there is one Living and True God, eternally existing in three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, equal in power and glory; and that this triune God created all, upholds all and governs all.

We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament are the Word of God, fully inspired, without error in the original manuscripts, and are the infallible rule of faith and practice.

We believe in God the Father, an infinite, personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love; that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men; that He hears and answers prayer; and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.

We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles and teaching, His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people and personal visible return to earth. We believe that in His first coming Jesus inaugurated the fulfillment of the Kingdom of God.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, Who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify and empower for ministry all who believe in Christ; we believe the Holy Spirit dwells in every believer in Jesus Christ and that He is an abiding Helper, Teacher, and Guide. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit and in the exercise of all the Biblical gifts of the spirit.

We believe that all men are sinners by nature and choice and are therefore under condemnation; and that God regenerates and fills with the Holy Spirit those who repent of their sins and confess Jesus Christ as Lord.

We believe in the universal Church, the living spiritual body, of which Christ is the Head and all regenerated persons are members.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ committed two ordinances to the church
; Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. We believe water baptism and communion are open to all believers.

We believe in the laying on of hands for the empowering of the Holy Spirit, for ordination of pastors and elders, for receiving gifts of the Spirit, and for healing.

We believe in the personal, visible appearing of Christ to each believer and the consummation of His kingdom, in the resurrection of the body, the final judgment and eternal blessing of the righteous, and endless suffering of the wicked.

We believe in what is termed The Apostle’s Creed as embodying fundamental facts of the Christian faith and endorse the historic orthodox creeds of the Church.

“Community is our middle name”

Maryland Community Church is an interdependent “interdenominational” congregation devoted to Christ and the effort of uniting the body of Christ in the Wabash Valley. We believe the most effective means of Kingdom advancement and witness is unity (John 17). We are striving to be a House of Prayer for the nations as Jesus calls us to be (Mark 11:17).

We recognize that there are Christians in every denomination, and that no one group of believers holds all the truth in doctrine or lifestyle, therefore we want to make every effort to be balanced in Worship and proclaiming the Word of God. We have a “big tent” approach to denominationalism and worship gathering style; everyone is welcome!

We desire to be constantly reflecting on scripture and its application to our lives and the lives of those we are trying to reach for Christ. We desire to maintain a wide methodology while holding only the essential doctrines sacred so that we unite the family of God rather than further divide it. We desire to be relevant in our message to those outside the Kingdom of God.

MCC is a worshipping community of believers who evangelize the lost, disciple them to become like Christ, meet their needs through fellowship and equip them for ministry for the advancing of the Kingdom of God in our city and throughout the world.

MCC is a congregation engaged in multiple communities for the above purposes along with a conviction that choices in spiritual environments is a cultural necessity. The more choices you give the more people you can possibly reach with the gospel.
Community is our middle name, we are a people focused on making relationships key to spirituality. EPIC meets for public worship on Sundays at 10 am and Exchange meets at 6 pm. Each community is a different environment within Maryland Community Church.

These communities share many resources and some staff along with the conviction that we are better together in reaching our city and world. This is a method of being better together in order to reach more people with the gospel (Synergy). Some congregations have one church meeting in several locations; we are one congregation meeting at two different times sharing the same location with two different cultural expressions.
