MCC IS HIRING: MCC has an opening for a Full-Time Female Student Associate in the Student Ministry area with the responsibility of assisting the Student Ministry Pastor in the leading and managing of all aspects of Maryland’s ministry to 6th-12th grade students and their families. COMPASSION SUNDAY:  September 28 We will be hosting 34 sponsors of children in our our church we planted in Ecuador, South America. This will complete all the kids in this church. Be praying and planning on being a part of what is going to help these children move on step closer to Christ.

ECUADOR TEAM: The team is in need of approximately $3,000 to help cover costs of the upcoming trip to Ecuador. If you are able to give, please stop by the Cause Corner next Sunday, October 5 or give online at and select the “Ecuador” option in the giving tab.

HEALING ROOM: Wednesday, October 1 The Healing Room is available the first Wednesday of each month between 6 pm – 8 pm. Contact Connie Elkins ( or Roberta Adams ( with any questions. This is a time to receive ministry for various healing needs. The Healing Room is held in the MCC Prayer Room.

MCC COLLEGE COOKOUT: Sunday, October 5  Come out for food, fun and a chance to connect with new and old friends at the college-age cookout on Sunday, October 5 after the 11 am serivce (around 12:30 pm). CUISINE QUEENS: Tuesday, October 7  On Tuesday, October 7 at 6 pm Cuisine Queens will be heading to Clabber Girl for their next outing. The evening will include a cooking demonstration and meal. PYK ANNUAL FALL FESTIVAL:  Saturday, October 11 Planning for PYK’s 4th Annual Fall Festival is underway, and we need YOUR help! It’s difficult for MCC’s parents with young kids to man a station at our Fall Festival, and have time to take their own kids around to enjoy themselves. This is where you come in! We need volunteers to make snacks, pots of chili, pies & more! We need volunteers who could run a game, a craft, or decorate a trunk for Trunk or Treat! We also need donations of prizes and decorations. There’s a lot to do, and we would so appreciate your help! The Fall Festival is Saturday, October 11 from 5 pm-7:30 pm at MCC. MCC STUDENTS ZOMBIE NIGHT: Wednesday, October 29 Think massive capture the flag, meets tag, meets hide n’ seek, meets amazing race, meets nerf wars, meets zombie apocalypse, kind of game! This outreach event will be an epic night of FUN AND THRILL for ALL STUDENTS in 6TH-12TH GRADE to invite their friends, hear a gospel message, and afterwards, there will be a hayride for everyone! BINGO NIGHT AT SOUTHWOOD: Monday, October 20  Join us on the third Monday of each month at 7 pm at Southwood Health & Rehabilitation Center (2222 E Margaret Ave.). KAIROS: The fall meeting for the Kairos Prison Ministry is scheduled for Thursday, October 23. They will meet with 42 selected offenders at Putnamville Correctional Facility for a 4 day weekend. The ministry is a very dynamic program where Christ’s love is shared with good music, carefully coordinated talks and home cooked meals. To graduate from this course, they have to participate. By the end of the weekend many lives are changed with a desire to continue their personal growth by attending Prayer and Share weekly. You can participate by signing up for the Prayer Chain, to bake cookies, decorate place mats, and if you wish, we can arrange for you to attend the closing ceremonies on Sunday, October 26. MCC STUDENTS BREAKAWAY RETREAT: October 24-25  Home-based youth retreat with fun-filled activities designed to encourage a student’s spiritual walk. Our focus for the weekend is that students come away with a deeper passion for worship, discipleship and service! HOST HOMES NEEDED: MCC Students is looking for families to host a small group of students and leaders overnight on Friday, October 24 during the Breakaway Retreat. Being a host is one of our biggest needs for the weekend from parents! It means helping in 3 ways; giving the group a place to sleep, serving breakfast in the morning, and showing radical hospitality. HELP FEED THE HUNGRY IN THE WABASH VALLEY: Check out the Bag Hunger station in the Cause Corner each Sunday to donate food to the local 14th & Chestnut Food pantry. Summer is a time where food pantries often need the most help, as donations are low and kids are out of school. To participate in Bag Hunger, all you need to do is take a plastic bag from the Cause Corner, purchase the items on the list provided on the bag and bring it back the next time you are at church.
